Sweden cancels agreement with Elsevier

Since Elsevier does not meet the requirements of Swedish universities and research institutes, when it comes to Open Acess, the Bibsam Consortium has decided not to renew the agreement with the scientific publisher Elsevier.

The agreement will end on the 30th of June. Roughly 1,900 journals are in the Science Direct Freedom Collection and will be affected by this change.

What does this mean in terms of access?

This means that students, researchers and staff, at Halmstad University, will continue to have access to articles published from 1995 to June 30th 2018.

But we will not be able to access any new articles published after June 30th on the publisher’s platform.
